Zhang peili biography for kids

   

1957

Zhang Peili  张培力 was born in November in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province  China.

 

 

His father taught at Medical University in Hangzhou.

 His mother was midwife in the Hospital.  

1984

He graduated from the Zhejiang Fine Art Academy, Hangzhou. 

He was one of the founder members of the group of artists called* Pond Society,

 

with which he organized events, such as those sketches painted

 on the outside walls  of the Academy.  

 1985

He was involved in that Art movement called The New Wave which intend

 

to catch international attention to the Chinese Contemporary Art.

  

1988

He abandonned oil painting for video art.

 

He created the first video in China : 30
